With a loose time schedule the class results were decided on the test times. Four tests for the Experts, Senior, three for the Clubmen and two for the Sportsmen. The test was open and relatively pasey which made the times close in all classes none more so than in the senior where Paul Walsh (KTM) only had a seven second advantage from Dave Darcy (TM) with John Regan (KTM) a further 10 adrift. Darcy’s times were all within 2 seconds per test just not quite fast enough.
At the top again though was Dave Mc Nulty (Beta) claiming the top spot by some 25 seconds, not from the rest of the young ones but from Harold Crawford (GG) proving that age of man and bike is no impediment in enduro . . not so old ! Ian Kellyn (HVA) slotted neatly into third place. Robert Regan (KTM) filled the fourth slot.
Michael Tobin (KTM) , Stephen Short( HVA) and Barry Kennedy ( HVA) filled the Clubman podium with times as fast as but not as consist ant as the Seniors but they did a lap and a test less on the day with 6 riders out for various reasons. Bike problems for some, body problems for others.
Barry Doherty ( HUS) took a very narrow 6 second win from robin Caldwell
( HVA) and Keith Morgan. Just two seconds further behind filling third in the sportsman in a well attended class where most have moved from the novice last season.
That novice class was lead home by Ivan McLaughlin (HON).

So the 2015 “Glendalough” Enduro comes to finality. It was a good event, well laid out, well supported and we presume enjoyed by all ….the reason we ride in the first place. Today as outlined, the event does not have the terrain or distance that the club had access to in the 80’s but good nonetheless. Some of us and the organisers were fortunate to have experienced both. There can be little debate that the 80’s and early 90’s was the golden era for Irish enduros.
Time moves on and our thanks to all riders, organisers, timekeepers for keeping our sport going.
