Hi Folks,

Well we hope you are all set for the first event of the year and that we can
raise as much as possible for this years charity, The Simon Community. All
proceeds will be split between the Dublin & Limerick branches.  Some of you
have already sent in your cards or donated an entry even though you can’t
make it to the event. Some of the donations have been outstanding. Thank
you… Please bring your cards with you on Sunday no matter how much or
little you managed to raise.

The Simon Community have also given us a few spot prizes to raffle off on
the day and tickets will be on sale at sign on and during the event.  Some
of the prizes are…

Directions

There are a few new sections of the Dublin Cork road open since we last had
a race in this part of the country. Take the exit off the new Cork road (N8,
I think) for Cahir. It will be arrowed from one of the roundabouts on the
Cahir by-pass. With the new roads the lads marking the course have been able
to do the trip in just under 2 hours from Dublin (Newlands Cross).

There will also be a food truck at the event serving tea/coffee, sambos,
chips & burgers etc. So your Friends and Family who come along to watch can
get a half decent cup of coffee while you are out playing in the mud!

Yes the web site is still down but we are working on it and will have it
back up asap…

For the record I sat in work and looked outside the window in absolute agony. So far I’ve heard of one piston in more than 1 piece and one burned clutch. Sounds like it was a brilliant day! How did you get on? Feel free to use the comments on here or the forum to let us know.

The rain strikes again, just got this from TORC:

Hi Folks,

What a summer and it continues to upset us. After a long review with the Clerk of the Course for Borris H&H the unfortunate decision has been made to cancel this event. This decision was influenced by the weather of the parts two weeks and the fact that the weather for the next week isn’t looking much better. The last thing we want to do is run the race for the sake of it and never get invited back after totally cutting up a working farm.

We are reviewing the situation in Clonmel and will make a decision on running the Charity event there on the 24th of Aug. The Clerk of the course will inspect the track this Thursday 21st of Aug and we will send a mail out that evening letting you know.

As this is a Charity event we would ask riders who cannot make this revised date (assuming it goes ahead) if they would consider donating their entry instead of looking for the entry to be returned to them.

For those who have already donated their entry and a number of you who have donated €100 for this event we sincerely than you.

Keep an eye out for more details.
